We are an overseas based law firm which is opening in March 2011 and we are seeking a person who is prepared to work on a contractual basis from home and perform different type of legal secretarial work, which will be sent to them.
The contract is for 7.5 hours per day 5 days per week and the monthly remuneration is between 12,000 (NGN) to 15,000 (NGN) depending on experience.
The work mainly involves the following:
(a) Drafting precedent documents for the firm's database;
(b) Typing letters and other such documentation which has been dictated and sent to you in a WAV file;
(c) Booking hotels and accomodation and boardrooms when the lawyer is travelling to another jurisdiction;
(d) Some legal research activities which will be sent;
(e) Update wording for the firm's webpage;
(e) Making changes to documents which has been scanned and sent to you;
(f) Personal assistant type duties such as arranging meetings for the lawyer and updating the lawyer's online diary; and
(g) Other such legal secretarial work related to the practice of law.
The law firm is based overseas and some online training will be provided.
The lawyer is extremely busy so a suitable person would have had some experience in the legal field (either as a law student or someone who has previously worked in the profession.
Further, the applicant must have a high level of integrity and proficiency in both written and spoken english.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word is essential.
All applications will be treated with the strictest of confidence.
