Duty Station: | Abuja, Nigeria (with missions to Banjul Accord Group Member States-Cape Verde, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana and Guinea-Conakry |

Qualifications Requirements:
- Candidate must have a University degree in law preferably in international law and/or air law.
- Extensive experience (10 years or more) in increasingly responsible positions in the practice of public international law, in particular air law, treaty law, and law of international organizations in a government organization or international organization. At least five years of such experience should have been acquired at the international level dealing with matters that go beyond national boundaries.
- Practical experience in negotiating with senior officials in governments and multinational organizations.
- Highly developed negotiating skills and ability to work with and persuade others to reach agreements. Ability to take and defend positions. Ability to summarize and to present complex issues to senior officials, Ability to provide authoritative advice on legal and external relations matters.
- Familiarity with the objectives and procedures of the international organizations and specialized agencies of the United Nations ( U.N ) Common System, preferably including ICAO;
- Knowledge of the aviation industry and related activities. Knowledge of and practical experience with the administrative rules and appeals procedures of UN international organizations and specialized agencies and regional/sub regional agencies

- Judgment/decision making: Proven ability to take ownership of all responsibilities and to honour commitments, to exercise mature judgment, to recognize key issues and analyze relevant information, to make feasible recommendations and to take sound decisions, Communication: Excellent ability to write clearly and concisely and to present articulate verbal reports in English, Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset;
- Teamwork; Diplomacy, resourcefulness and tact. Ability to work with and acquire the collaboration of staff at all levels, as well as counterparts in other international organizations. Ability to maintain harmonious working relationships in a multicultural environment;
- Leadership, vision and management of performance: Demonstrated ability to plan and guide the work of a technical team in a multinational environment, to identify priori ties and adjust them as required to ensure quality and timeliness of outputs
- Client Orientation: Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with external collaborators, to work and advocate effectively in a consensus-based system and to successfully manage and resolve conflict.
- Commitment to continuous learning: Willingness to keep abreast of new development in professional field.
