Vacancies: Service Team Leader, Marine Service Engineer
Cummins West Africa Limited is expanding its operations in Nigeria and it urgently requires competent, brilliant and results orientated persons to fill the positions below in Port Harcourt location:

Position: Service Team Leader

Responsibilities
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team and work with a sense of urgency in providing excellent service to our clients and customers.
  • Collaborate with members of the Sales Force to recognize potential sales opportunities as well “as to ensure the maintenance and further penetration of current business relationships
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to efficiently manage team and team territory and to ensure the continued growth of the business.
  • Work to ensure team objectives are met and look for ways to further streamline policies, procedures, and ultimately increase the level of quality and customer service produced by the group.
  • Motivate and manage the service team, monitoring the day-to-day operations to ensure workload is evenly distributed throughout the team.
  • To monitor the changing needs of the service, liaising with internal and external customers to (identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for service improvement and implementing those improvements to the satisfaction of internal and external customers.

Requirements
  • Candidate must possess HND, B.Sc or B.Tech.in Mechanical /Electrical Electronics Engineer.
  • Candidates who can drive will be given preference.

Experience/Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years service experience
  • Excellent verbal communication, listening, feedback, delegation, fostering teamwork and multi-tasking skills
  • Experience of Cummins engines or generators is essential
  • Excellent customer relationship management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Position: Marine Service Engineer

Responsibilities
  • Ability to accurately carry out fault diagnostics and repairs to Cummins engines and Generator sets in marine applications
  • Troubleshoot electrical/electronic installation and service issues
  • Complete repairs within target times and without rework following all published procedures and policies.
  • Respond to marine customer inquiries concerning engine installation.
  • Effective coordination/supervision of Service personnel or teams, to ensure all Service and Customer requirements are met.
  • Provide Technical Support to relevant staff, customers and dealers as required.
  • Undertakes training in line with skill requirements (some training maybe completed overseas)
  • Ensure Cummins, marine & customer HS&E standards are met & enforced at all times on both Cummins & customer sites.

Requirements
  • Applicant must have B.Sc Mechanical  Eng, B.Sc Electrical/Electronics, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent experience.
  • Candidates who can drive will be given preference.

Experience/Skills
  • Candidate should have minimum of 5 years experience as a Marine Service Engineer.
  • Experience of Cummins engines or generators would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of marine application engine, engine systems, electronic controls, trouble shooting and repair process,
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and must be flexible

Position: Operations Accountant

Requirements:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a major company as a project or operations accountant.
  • First hand knowledge and experience of operations is essential as is the ability to understand the activities behind the numbers.
  • Knowledge of oil industry accounting is desirable.
  • A first degree in accounting, finance or economics would be appropriate.


Position:     Government Liaison Officer:

Requirements:
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a major company in a liaison role dealing with government or clients. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • A good understanding of technical matters is required so a first degree in an engineering or science discipline is desirable.

General
All these roles are hands on roles that will require some travel to remote sites.
First degrees must be first or second class.

For all roles, excellent numerical skills, analytical skills and excellent attention to details are essential. Excellent computing skills in MS Excel and Word are also required.
Attendance at a post-graduate oil industry training program such as PTI, IPS or SITP will be an advantage

Position:     Maintenance Engineer

Requirements:
  • Candidate should have degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 2 to 4 years of experience with a servicing company or an oil producing company in a maintenance planning role.
  • Detailed knowledge of maintenance procedures and planning methods is required.
  • Knowledge of oil industry standards and the regulatory requirements for offshore installations is essential. Some hands on maintenance experience will be highly regarded.

Position: Offshore/Marine Engineer

Requirements:
  • A degree in Offshore or Marine Engineering with 5 years of experience in a company involved in offshore structures.
  • Knowledge of the design, or the construction or the installation of offshore structures is required.
  • A thorough understanding of the appropriate industry standards is essential. Experience in the maintenance of offshore structure would be highly regarded.

Position: Safety Engineer

Requirements:
  • Degree or HND in a safety related discipline; either graduate or post graduate.
  • 2 to 4 years experience with a reputable service company or an oil producing company in a safety position is required.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations for oil and gas operations is essential. Some field experience is required.

General
